The No. 5 Oklahoma Wesleyan volleyball team fell in four sets to No. 9 McPherson on Saturday afternoon, 26-24, 17-25, 20-25, 19-25. The loss marks just the second of the season for the Lady Eagles, who move to 16-2 overall and 5-1 in KCAC play.
Evelyn Rohrberg led the Eagles with 18 kills and a .341 hitting percentage, while Maia Rubio followed with 15 kills and one ace. Setter Sydney Collins totaled 43 assists along with 11 digs and three blocks. Defensively, Maria Luisa Caycedo anchored the back row with 15 digs, and Jordan Isbell added 11 digs and three service aces.
After taking the opening set 26-24, the Eagles battled through several tight rallies but couldn't overcome McPherson's offensive rhythm in the final three sets.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they travel to face Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas.
