Bartlesville, OK —  

OKWU men's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on their home turf, defeating Southwestern College 3-0 in a spirited KCAC matchup. The win keeps the Eagles undefeated in conference play, improving their record to 6-0-3 overall and 4-0-1 in the KCAC. 

From the opening whistle, OKWU controlled the tempo, outshooting Southwestern 21-4 and earning an impressive 12 corner kicks to Southwestern's 3. The Eagles' aggressive offense and disciplined defense kept the visitors on their heels throughout the match. 

Nemanja Vukovic opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a well-placed shot assisted by Joao Vitor Gomes, setting the tone early. Carter Ligi added to the lead just before halftime with a goal in the 44th minute, assisted by Biel Campo, who was a standout playmaker with 4 shots and 2 on goal. Ligi's presence off the bench proved vital, as he also recorded another shot late in the second half. 

The final goal came in the 70th minute via a penalty kick from Julian Tovar, who had 4 shots and 3 on goal, showcasing his attacking strength. Goalkeepers Stefan Schenk and Omar combined for a clean sheet, with Omar making two crucial saves in the final minutes. 

OKWU's tactical execution and depth were on full display. With contributions from both starters and substitutes, the Eagles maintained pressure and composure throughout the match. Their ability to capitalize on set pieces and maintain possession was key to their success. 

The Eagles now turn their focus to their next challenge, a road game against Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas on October 4th at 3:30 PM. With momentum on their side and a strong team performance behind them, OKWU will look to extend their unbeaten streak and continue climbing the KCAC standings.
