Women’s Soccer Secures 3–0 Road Win at Avila

Kansas City, MO —

The Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagles continued their dominant conference run Wednesday afternoon, shutting out Avila University 3–0 on the road.

Senior forward Laura Gieseler delivered a stellar performance, recording a first-half hat trick to lift the Eagles past the Eagles of Avila. She opened the scoring in the 26th minute with an unassisted strike, added her second in the 38th minute off an assist from Alexis Aguirre, and completed the hat trick just three minutes later to give OKWU a commanding 3–0 lead before halftime.

Oklahoma Wesleyan controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Avila 19–2 and holding a 7–2 edge in corner kicks. The Lady Eagles' attack kept Avila's goalkeeper busy, forcing nine saves on twelve shots on goal.

Goalkeepers Alessandra Martinez and Leona Kraus split time in net, each making one save to combine for the clean sheet.

With the victory, Oklahoma Wesleyan improves to 15-1-1 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 12-0-0. The Lady Eagles will look to carry their momentum into the KCAC postseason tournament next week.
