The OKWU women's basketball team secured their first win of the season in commanding fashion, defeating LSU Alexandria 73-64.
The Lady Eagles came out strong, dominating the first half with a 43–27 lead. Their aggressive defense and sharp shooting set the tone early, with standout performances from Gracie Alexander, who led all scorers with 24 points, including five three-pointers. Alexander's clutch shooting helped OKWU maintain momentum throughout the game.
Ashlyn Baker added 13 points, while Tayiyah Harris contributed a well-rounded performance with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. The Lady Eagles capitalized on turnovers, scoring 19 points off turnovers, showcasing their defensive strength.
Overall, the Lady eagles put on a phenomenal performance shooting a 37.5 FG%, 39.3 3PT%, and 60.9 FT%. Combining their offensive skill with defensive strenghts the Lady Eagles were a tough team to beat.
