OKWU women's soccer continued their dominant run through the KCAC with a 2-0 road victory over Friends University. The win improves the Lady Eagles to 10-1-1 overall and 7-0-0 in conference play.
The scoring started early, with Jenna Vick finding the back of the net in the 2nd minute off an assist from Frederiekke Nielsen, setting the tone for the match. Later in the first half, Laura Gieseler doubled the lead in the 28th minute, assisted by Kayla Herrera, capping off a clinical attacking display.
Oklahoma Wesleyan outshot Friends 11-3, with six shots on goal compared to just one from the Falcons. The Lady Eagles also earned four corner kicks in the first half, applying consistent pressure. Goalkeeper Alessandra Martinez recorded a clean sheet with one save, anchoring a defense that allowed minimal chances.
Gieseler led the team with four shots, two on goal, and a goal, while Vick and Edwards also contributed offensively. The Lady Eagles' midfield and backline controlled possession and tempo throughout, keeping Friends off the scoreboard.
With another shutout and a balanced team performance, Oklahoma Wesleyan continues to look like a championship contender as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.
