Oklahoma Wesleyan volleyball continued its strong start to conference play with a 3–1 victory over Friends University on Wednesday evening inside Mueller Sports Center. The Eagles took the match by set scores of 25-12, 25-11, 22-25, and 25-10.
OKWU's offense was efficient, hitting an impressive .314 as a team. Evelyn Rohrberg powered the attack with 19 kills, while Maia Rubio turned in a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs. Middle hitter Tijana Stojilkjovic was nearly unstoppable, finishing with seven kills on a .636 hitting percentage and adding two blocks. Maria Andrea Santa Cruz chipped in 11 kills to round out a balanced offensive effort.
Setter Sydney Collins directed the attack with 46 assists and made her presence felt at the service line with five aces. She was joined at the line by Jordan Isbell, who fired in four aces of her own while also contributing five digs. Libero Maria Luisa Caycedo anchored the back row, recording a match-high 25 digs to spark the defense.
The Eagles dominated the opening two sets, holding Friends under .100 hitting in both frames. After the Falcons responded with a narrow win in the third, OKWU bounced back in commanding fashion, closing the match on a service ace from Collins.
With the win, Oklahoma Wesleyan improves to 15-1 overall and stays unbeaten in KCAC play at 4-0. The Lady Eagles now turn their focus to a top-10 battle on the road Saturday against No. 9 McPherson.
