McPherson, KS —
Oklahoma Wesleyan women's volleyball delivered a commanding performance on Saturday evening, sweeping Bethel College 25–17, 25–19, 25–11 to capture the 2025 KCAC Tournament Championship and officially punch their ticket to the NAIA National Tournament.
After a competitive start to the opening set, OKWU quickly found its rhythm. Powerful swings from Evelyn Rohrberg and Maia Rubio, combined with steady serving pressure, sparked a run that separated the Eagles from the Threshers. With improved ball control and a balanced attack, OKWU closed out the first set confidently, 25–17.
Bethel opened the second frame on a strong 7–2 run, but OKWU responded immediately. Setter Sydney Collins steadied the offense with crisp distribution, guiding the Eagles back into the lead through key kills from Rubio, Maria Cossich, and Rohrberg. Once Oklahoma Wesleyan regained momentum, they held firm, closing the set 25–19.
With the championship within reach, the Eagles delivered their most dominant set of the night. OKWU stormed ahead 7–1 behind clean execution, aggressive serving from Jordan Isbell, and efficient attacking from Rohrberg, Cossich, and Iva Mrkaic. Defensively, libero Maria Luisa Caycedo anchored the back row with sharp positioning and timely digs, while the front line controlled the net. The Eagles sealed the title emphatically with a 25–11 victory.
Rohrberg led the way with 19 kills on .417 hitting, six digs, and five total blocks. Rubio added 11 kills, Cossich contributed seven, and Mrkaic recorded four blocks. Collins orchestrated the offense with 35 assists, while Caycedo's steady presence helped OKWU collect 63 digs as a team.
Congratulations to the Eagles on securing the KCAC Tournament Championship. This win extends a remarkable run for the program—OKWU earned its first-ever KCAC Tournament title in 2023, defended the crown in 2024, and now adds another in 2025, marking three straight championships and solidifying themselves as a conference powerhouse.
With the trophy secured and momentum building, the Eagles now turn their focus to the NAIA National Tournament.
