#13 Men's Basketball hosted the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes on Saturday, November 22
nd for their first KCAC match-up on their home court. Looking to defend Mueller Sports Center, the Eagles forced the Coyotes to quick play and showed an aggressive 3 team rotation to take their fourth KCAC victory 77-64.
A fast start from the Eagles gave way to a 20-8 lead at the ten-minute mark over the Coyotes. Slowing offensively, the Coyotes were able to work their way back into contention, going on a 11-0 run and eventually tying up the game 28-28. Holding strong with five minutes left, the Eagles outscored the Coyotes 8 to 4 to take the 36-34 lead at the half.
Coming into the half with a minor lead, the Eagles second rotation of 5 put up multiple shots and forced 4 turnovers to extend the Eagles lead even further. Outscoring the Coyotes 41 t 32 in the second half, gave way to a secured victory in favor of the Eagles.
Nathaniel Law had himself a game, scoring 12, accumulating 9 rebounds, and going 6-10 in the paint. An all-around team effort, 11 Eagles were able to jump on the scoreboard tonight, 13 able to collect a rebound, and 9 assisting a shot.
Nick Bene led the Eagles with 14 points on the night, going 6-9 in the paint.
The Eagles are on the road on November 29
th to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where they will face off against USAO at the Paycom Center.
