Men’s Soccer Earn Spot in KCAC Championship with Win Over York

Wichita, KS —

The Oklahoma Wesleyan men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 2–1 victory over York University on Friday night in the KCAC Tournament semifinals, securing their place in the conference championship.

After a scoreless first half, the Eagles struck first in the 67th minute when Adrian Mejia scored off a setup from Nemanja Vukovic. York responded in the 74th minute through Alex Hulme, but the Eagles answered back late as Biel Campo netted the game-winner in the 85th minute, once again assisted by Vukovic.

Oklahoma Wesleyan maintained control throughout, outshooting York 19–6 and earning seven corner kicks to York's two. Goalkeeper Marko Rodic made two key saves, while York's Jamie Watt recorded eight saves under constant pressure.

With the victory, the Eagles (18-0-3, 13-0-1 KCAC) move on to the KCAC Championship match, where they will face Ottawa University on Wednesday, November 12, at 4 p.m. at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.
