Men's Basketball Rally Past the Drovers of USAO for Hard-Fought Victory at Paycom Center

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—

The OKWU Eagles extended their winning streak with a thrilling 82-78 victory over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma at Paycom Center. The Eagles improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

After trailing 39-35 at halftime, Oklahoma Wesleyan surged in the second half, outscoring USAO 47-39 behind clutch shooting and defensive intensity. Nick Bene led the Eagles with 19 points and six rebounds, shooting an efficient 6-of-9 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. Humberto Kentish Jr added 12 points and five steals, while Yashi McKenzie chipped in 10 points and six free throws.

The Eagles dominated points off turnovers and bench scoring, key factors in their comeback. Despite USAO's impressive first half and hard-fought battle in the second half, OKWU's balanced attack and late-game composure sealed the win. The Eagles shot 44.3% from the field and 77.4% from the line, including a strong 47.1% in the second half.

With this victory, Oklahoma Wesleyan remains unbeaten in conference play and looks to carry momentum into their next matchup. Their next opponent will be against Avila University on December 3rd, at 7:30 PM. Go Eagles!
