Softball Sweeps Bethel in KCAC Double-Header

Softball

Bartlesville, OK -

Game 1: Eagles Shut Out Threshers, 2-0

Oklahoma Wesleyan opened their series against Bethel with a dominant 2-0 shutout victory, led by pitcher Gabby Simpson's masterful performance. Simpson was nearly untouchable, tossing a complete-game two-hitter while striking out six and not allowing a single walk.

The Eagles capitalized on their opportunities at the plate, with Jessica Watson leading the charge by going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Raegan Rector added an RBI double, and Taryn Rhodes drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Oklahoma Wesleyan managed seven hits, while Bethel struggled to generate offense, recording just two hits and striking out six times.
Bethel's pitching duo of E. Killingsworth and G. Higgins kept the game within reach, combining for three strikeouts and allowing only three runs, but their offense was unable to find an answer against Simpson's stellar outing.

Game 2: Eagles Complete Series Sweep with 4-1 Win

Oklahoma Wesleyan followed up their shutout with another strong performance, defeating Bethel 4-1 to complete the two-game sweep.
Raegan Rector once again played a key role at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jessica Watson continued her strong series with a hit and two runs scored, while Alyssa Olivas and Maddy Wiese each added RBIs to power the offense.

Wiese started on the mound for the Eagles and picked up the win, allowing just one run on three hits over four innings. Saige Lovelle took over in relief and shut the door, pitching three scoreless innings with three strikeouts to secure the victory.

With the sweep, Oklahoma Wesleyan demonstrated their pitching strength and hitting strength, continuing their strong season as they look ahead to their next challenge. The Lady Eagles will face off against Ottawa in a 2-game series. Game 1 and 2 Tuesday March 25th @ TBD PM. Go Eagles!
