A stellar pitching performance and timely hitting propelled Oklahoma Wesleyan University to a commanding 5-1 victory over Ottawa University, securing their first win in the series.
The OKWU pitching staff was lights out. The Lady Eagle's pitching duo of Gabby Simpson and Saige Lovelle proved to be too much for the Braves, combining for 10 strikeouts while allowing just one unearned run. Simpson set the tone early, fanning seven batters over 5.2 innings, while Lovelle closed the door with 2.1 innings of shutout relief to seal the win.
At the plate, Oklahoma Wesleyan's Jessica Watson was a key offensive contributor, going 2-for-4 with a clutch double that helped drive the Eagles' attack. Raegan Rector also delivered at the plate, notching two hits and an RBI and Alyssa Olivas drove in two key runs to extend the lead.

The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles showcased resilience and offensive firepower in a hard-fought 6-5 win over Ottawa University. A dominant early-game performance and clutch pitching down the stretch helped OKWU hold off a determined Ottawa squad.
From the first pitch, the Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagles came out swinging. In an action-packed matchup, Oklahoma Wesleyan struck early with a four-run outburst, led by Jessica Watson's clutch two-run double. Carley Billings played a key role, tallying three hits and scoring twice to fuel the offense. The Eagles wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, plating four
runs early against Ottawa starter Cesara Roque. A sacrifice fly from Raegan Rector and aggressive baserunning helped OKWU establishes a lead.
Saige Lovelle kept Ottawa in check with six solid innings on the mound, striking out four and allowing just two earned runs. A tense seventh inning saw Ottawa rally for three late runs, but Gabby Simpson shut the door with a game-saving groundout to seal the 6-5 win for the Eagles.
