Game 1: Oklahoma Wesleyan Drops Opener to Park
Oklahoma Wesleyan suffered a setback against Park in the series opener falling 6-2.
Evan Foor and Matthew Weidkamp were are on the mound for game 1 of the series. Evan Foor started for the Eagles having solid early innings displaying his effectiveness to control the game early. However, Park would catch fire, and the Eagles looked to Matthew Weidkamp to come out of the bullpen and hold Park in their tracks. Together both pictures put in their best effort, but it wasn't enough to keep Park at bay.
Maloney, Parker Disidore, Caden Stinson, and Dominguez created a late inning spark against Park, but the Eagles would not have enough time for a comeback. JT Maloney Caden Stinson, and John Dominguez provided the offensive highlights for Oklahoma Wesleyan coming off the bench. Despite their exciting efforts, the Eagles struggled to generate sustained offense against Park's pitching. Together they would produce 2 runs allowing the Eagles to not be shut out.
Oklahoma Wesleyan's determination remains unshaken as they look to bounce back in Game 2. Game 2: Oklahoma Wesleyan Prevails in a Wild Slugfest Against Park, 13-12
In a thrilling back-and-forth battle, Oklahoma Wesleyan outlasted Park 13-12 to even the series and showcase their relentless fighting spirit. The Eagles rallied late and delivered clutch performances to secure the victory in a high-scoring game.
Victor Sanchez, Javier Marcial, and Luis Antigua led the charge for Oklahoma Wesleyan. Sanchez went 3-for-6 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs, setting the tone early. Marcial gave a powerful performance, going 2-for-5 with a homer, three RBIs, and a walk. Player of the game Luis Antigua went 3-for-5, with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. With a runner at second base, Luis Antigua hit a crushing walk-off double to right-centerfield scoring in the runner to win in the bottom of the 9th inning. Their offensive firepower kept Oklahoma Wesleyan in the game and energized the dugout.
The Eagles' pitching staff faced challenges but managed to hold Park's lineup in check when it mattered most. Michael Mendoza battled through 6.1 innings, striking out eight batters. Braelen Pippin earned the win in relief, tossing a scoreless final inning to seal the game.
