The Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles opened their 2025 season in dominant fashion at the Siouxland Invitational, finishing the weekend undefeated with three straight victories.
GAME 1
On Friday, August 22, the Lady Eagles started off with a comeback win over (RV) Valley City State University, dropping the first set 22-25 before taking the next three 25–20, 25–20, 25–20. Evelyn Rohrberg came out hot with 28 kills, followed by Maria Andrea Santa Cruz with 13 kills and Maia Rubio with 12 kills, while Sydney Collins racked up 56 assists.
Making her collegiate debut, middle blocker Anuhea Aukai provided three solid blocks, and libero Maria Luisa Caycedo secured the back row with 19 digs.
GAME 2
In their afternoon match, OKWU carried their momentum into a 3–1 win over Rocky Mountain College 25–13, 25–18, 21–25, 25–20. Rohrberg once again led the Lady Eagles with 15 kills and 6 blocks, joined by Tijana Stojiljkovic, who finished with 10 kills and a .375 hitting percentage.
GAME 3
On Saturday, August 23, the Lady Eagles closed out play with a sweep victory over (RV) Morningside University 25–15, 25–16, 27–25. Rohrberg had another big match with 25 kills and a .585 hitting percentage, while Stojiljkovic added 7 kills. Collins totaled 35 assists in the win.
The Lady Eagles finished the Invitational undefeated at 3–0 and will be back in action Friday, August 29, in Salem, Oregon, for the Hampton Inn Classic.
