Oklahoma Wesleyan University volleyball team picked up two more wins on Saturday, sweeping the University of Science and Arts and Nelson University in a tri-match held in Waxahachie. These victories move the Lady Eagles' record to 9-1 on the season.
In the opening match against The University of Science and Arts, OKWU won 25–12, 25–13, 25–19 behind an efficient attack and steady defense. Evelyn Rohrberg finished with 18 kills and hit a .680 hitting percentage. Maia Rubio added seven kills and six digs, while Tijana Stojiljkovic had six kills and two blocks. Jade Gosney directed the offense with 30 assists and six digs, and libero Maria Luisa Caycedo led the back row with 13 digs and an ace. As a team, Oklahoma Wesleyan hit .270 with 36 kills and recorded four service aces.
The Lady Eagles closed out the day with a 25–22, 26–24, 25–21 win over Nelson University. Rohrberg again led the attack with 22 kills and hitting .372. Rubio had 13 kills and 17 digs. Stojiljkovic added six kills with a .286 hitting percentage with one block. Sydney Collins ran the offense with 50 assists, an ace, and six digs. Caycedo anchored the defense with 25 digs and another ace. OKWU totaled 51 kills with a .225 hitting percentage, 80 digs, and six aces in the win.
The Lady Eagles used the tri-match to display their depth and consistency, controlling both matches with steady play at the net and strong back-row defense. With the victories, OKWU heads into the next stretch of the season with confidence and momentum and will be back in action next Saturday for the Park University Classic.
