OKWU women's soccer team put on a clinic Wednesday night, overwhelming Evangel University with an 8-0 shutout at home. The Lady Eagles improved to 4–1–1 on the season and 1–0–0 in conference play, showcasing their depth and attacking firepower in a dominant performance.
Leading the charge was Laura Gieseler, who netted a hat trick with goals in the 2nd, 18th, and 30th minutes. She was supported by Kylie Reif, who added two goals of her own and an assist, and Linn Joelsson, who contributed a goal and two assists. Additional goals came from Ana Chavez, Mariajose Rosas, and Joelsson, rounding out a relentless offensive effort.
OKWU outshot Evangel 20 to 3, with 14 shots on goal and 12 corner kicks. Goalkeepers Alessandra Martinez and Leona Kraus combined for a clean sheet, with Martinez recording the lone save. The Lady Eagles' defense was impenetrable, allowing Evangel few chances and controlling possession throughout the match.
