Men’s Soccer Dominates Evangel in 3-0 Shutout Victory!

OKWU men's soccer team delivered a commanding performance against Evangel University, securing a 3-0 win at home. The Eagles showcased their offensive power and defensive discipline, improving their season record to 3–0–2 and remaining undefeated in conference play. 

The match saw standout performances from several Oklahoma Wesleyan players. Senior forward Adrian Mejia opened the scoring in the last 2 minutes of the first half, giving the Eagles momentum heading into halftime. In the second half, Tylor Guerrero doubled the lead in the 69th minute with a well-placed shot assisted by Alejandro Aleman Lop, who also contributed significantly in midfield. The final goal came from Carter Ligi in the last few minutes of the game, sealing the victory. 

Oklahoma Wesleyan dominated the stat sheet with 21 total shots, 15 on goal, and 6 corner kicks, compared to Evangel's 4 shots and just 1 corner. Goalkeeper Stefan Schenk was solid between the posts, recording 2 saves and earning a clean sheet. The Eagles' defense held firm, allowing Evangel few opportunities and maintaining control throughout the match. 

With this win, Oklahoma Wesleyan continues to build momentum early in the season. The Eagles will look to carry this energy into their next matchup against Sterling College on September 20th at home, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 PM. GO EAGLES!
