Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Dominates Sterling College 7-0

Bartlesville, OK-

OKWU women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday shutting out Sterling College 7-0 at home. The Lady Eagles, now 5–1–1 overall and 2–0–0 in conference play, showcased their offensive firepower and defensive discipline in a match that was never in doubt. 

From the opening whistle, OKWU set the tone less than one minute into the game, Kylie Reif found the back of the net off an assist from Tessa Edwards, igniting a first-half scoring spree. Frederiekke Nielsen and Ana Chavez added goals in the first half as well assisted by Macy Butler. Chavez scored two goals, and Nielsen earned a goal of her own making it a 4-0 lead at halftime.  

The second half belonged to Sophomore forward Isabelle Simoneau, who recorded 3 goals in the second half. Assists came from Marilia Constantinou and Linn Joelsson, highlighting OKWU's depth and teamwork. Simoneau led all players with six shots, four on goal, and three goals. 

OKWU outshot Sterling 29-0 and earned 12 corner kicks to Sterling's none. Goalkeepers Leona Kraus and Alessandra Martinez split time in net, combining for a clean sheet without needing a single save. 

With this decisive win, The Lady Eagles continues to build momentum in conference play. Their next challenge will be on the road against Ottawa University on Wednesday, September 24 at 5:00 PM. The Lady Eagles will look to carry their winning form into what promises to be another competitive matchup. GO EAGLES!
