OKWU women's volleyball team continued their impressive season with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Ottawa University on September 24th. The Eagles, now 12-1 on the year, showed poise and power in the KCAC Opener at home, winning each set 25–21, 25–18, and 25–23.
The Eagles were led by standout performances across the board. Evelyn Rohrberg was unstoppable, contributing a team-high 17 Kills. Maia Rubio added 14 kills with an outstanding .406 hitting percentage, while also tallying 8 digs and 1 ace, finishing with 16 points. Maria Santa Cruz Cossich chipped in with 10 kills and 2 digs, helping maintain offensive pressure throughout the match.
Setter Sydney Collins orchestrated the attack with 43 assists, while also contributing 10 digs, 1 ace, and 2 block assists. Tijana Stojiljkovic added 6 kills, 2 solo blocks, and 1 block assist, rounding out a balanced team effort. Defensively, Valeria Perez led with 12 digs, and Maria Luisa Caceydo added 17 digs, keeping Ottawa's offense in check.
Oklahoma Wesleyan finished the match with 52 kills, 131 total attacks while holding Ottawa to just 28 kills and a .140 hitting percentage.
With this win, the Eagles continue to build momentum heading into their next matchup. Oklahoma Wesleyan will face Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas on September 27th at 3:00 PM. GO EAGLES!
