The #9 Women's Volleyball team was on the road Saturday, September 27
th for a KCAC match-up against the Bethel College Lady Threshers. Looking to be a great conference match-up, both teams were coming off of conference opening wins the previous Wednesday.
Starting off in dominate fashion, the Lady Eagles took the first set by storm with a final score of 25-16. This didn't hold up for long, as the Lady Threshers were quick to the punch in the second set, forcing a 5 set back and forth rally between the two teams.
After a full team effort, the Lady Eagles were able to come away with the win, ending the 5
th set with a score of 16-14. With senior setter,
Sydney Collins controlling the offense & accumulating an outstanding 67 assits, the Lady Eagles used four key attackers to score for the Lady Eagles;
Evelyn Rohrberg (26), Maria Santa Cruz (17),
Maia Rubio (16), and
Tijana Stojiljkovic (12). On the flip side, Maria Luisa Caceydo &
Jordan Isbell combined for 38 digs in the back court for the Lady Eagles.
Outhitting the Lady Threshers .317% to .187% was the ultimate game changer for the Lady Eagles, giving them every opportunity to score in crucial moments. The Lady Eagles take home their second conference win this season, moving to 13-1 on the season as they look to travel to Winfield, Kansas this upcoming Wednesday to face off against Southwestern College.
