Bartlesville, OK -
Oklahoma Wesleyan men's soccer put together a dominant performance Saturday night, defeating Bethel College 4-0 at the OKWU Soccer Field. The win moves the Eagles to 5-0-3 overall and 3-0-1 in KCAC play.
The Eagles wasted no time setting the tone, outshooting the Threshers 26–3 and holding a commanding 17–2 advantage in shots on goal. Mateja Bozic opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing off an assist from Juan Morenoh. Just nine minutes later, Carter Ligi extended the lead with help from Nemanja Vukovic. OKWU kept the pressure on and added a third goal right before halftime when Adrian Mejia converted in the 45th minute on a pass from Ryunsokue Masuzuka.
In the second half, the Eagles continued to control possession and were rewarded in the 77th minute when Ligi netted his second goal of the night, assisted by Biel Campo, sealing the 4-0 result.
Defensively, OKWU's back line was rock solid, limiting Bethel to just two shots on target. Goalkeepers Stefan Schenk and Christian McCauley each recorded a save to combine for the shutout.
The Eagles also held a 12–0 advantage in corner kicks and consistently applied attacking pressure while keeping the Threshers pinned in their own half.
Oklahoma Wesleyan returns to action at OKWU Soccer Field on Wednesday October 1, at 6 PM against Southwestern College, looking to build on their strong start to conference play. GO EAGLES!
