Shreveport, LA -
In a hard-fought road matchup, the OKWU men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against LSU Shreveport Louisiana. The result moves the Eagles to 1-0-2 on the season.
The Eagles struck early, with midfielder Biel Campo finding the back of the net off a well-executed assist from Julian Tovar and Tylor Guerrero. Campo led the offensive charge with six shots, two on goal, and was a constant threat throughout the first half. OKWU controlled the tempo early, outshooting LSUS 12-7 in the first half and holding a 1-0 lead at the break.
Goalkeeper Marko Rodic was a standout for the Eagles, recording 7 saves and keeping the team in the match as LSU Shreveport ramped up pressure in the second half. Despite the defensive effort, LSUS equalized in late minutes with a goal.
OKWU will look to regroup and build on their strong defensive showing as they hit the road again to face MidAmerica Christian University on September 11th at 7:30 PM. The Eagles aim to convert their solid performances into wins as conference play approaches. Go Eagles!
