Bartlesville, OK —
The Lady Eagles put up a strong fight but came up short against Friends University, falling 69-61 at Mueller Sports Center on Saturday afternoon. Despite leading at halftime, the Eagles couldn't withstand a late surge from the Falcons.
OKWU started hot, taking a 34-29 lead into the break behind sharp shooting from Gracie Alexander, who finished with a game-high 24 points, including four three-pointers. The Eagles dominated the second quarter, outscoring Friends 21-17, but a tough third quarter saw them score just eight points as Friends regained momentum.
OKWU, now 6-10 overall and 1-9 in KCAC play, showed resilience with 23 bench points and 21 points off turnovers, but couldn't overcome Friends' dominance.
The Eagles will look to bounce back in their next conference matchup as they aim to climb the KCAC standings.
