The OKWU Eagles continued their impressive season with a 90-81 victory over the Ottawa University Braves on Wednesday night at the Mueller Sports Center. The win pushes OKWU to 15-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play, solidifying their spot near the top of the KCAC standings.
The Eagles showcased offensive efficiency, shooting an outstanding 58.3% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. After taking a 41-36 lead into halftime, OKWU exploded in the second half, outscoring the Braves and building a lead that stretched to 20 points midway through the period.
Temaje Izuagbe led the charge with a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds, while Yashi McKenzie added 20 points on near-perfect shooting. Ethan Williams orchestrated the offense with six assists and four steals, contributing to the Eagles' 22 points off turnovers. OKWU dominated the paint with 46 points inside and received a big boost from its bench, which chipped in 28 points.
Ottawa fought hard behind Rich Martelly's 20-point performance and Micah Willis' three triples, but the Braves couldn't overcome OKWU's relentless attack and defensive pressure.
