Men’s Basketball Cruise Past York on the Road

York, NE —

OKWU's men's basketball team delivered a complete performance on Saturday afternoon, overwhelming York University 86–45 at the Freeman Center to improve to 16–2 overall and 11–1 in KCAC play.

Oklahoma Wesleyan wasted little time separating itself, forcing early turnovers and converting efficiently on the offensive end. The Eagles built steady momentum throughout the opening half, holding York to 25.8 percent shooting and opening up a 40–20 lead by halftime behind strong ball movement and interior scoring.

Any hope of a York comeback was quickly shut down after the break. Oklahoma Wesleyan continued to apply pressure defensively while shooting over 54 percent in the second half. The Eagles stretched the margin throughout the period, eventually pushing the lead past 40 as they controlled both the tempo and the paint.

Temaje Izuagbe paced the Eagles with 19 points and six rebounds, while Isaac Stanek added 11 points off the bench in an efficient showing. Blake Hamblin finished with 10 points, and Jaden Wilson contributed nine on perfect shooting. Ethan Williams filled the stat sheet with eight assists and five steals, helping fuel Oklahoma Wesleyan's transition attack.

The Eagles finished with decisive advantages in points in the paint (48–16) and points off turnovers (33–10), underscoring their physicality and defensive intensity throughout the contest.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will look to keep its momentum going as conference play continues on the road next week.
