Springfield, Mo. —
The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles earned a 75–72 road victory over Evangel on Wednesday night in a tightly contested conference matchup. With the win, the Eagles improve to 16–2 overall and 12–1 in conference play.
The game featured back-and-forth action from the opening tip, with neither team able to create much separation. Oklahoma Wesleyan shot over 50 percent from the field in the first half and stayed within striking distance, trailing by just one at halftime. The Eagles found their rhythm offensively in the second half, relying on efficient scoring and steady execution down the stretch. Tamaje Izuagbe sparked the offense with a strong performance inside and from the perimeter, while Ethan Williams controlled the tempo and helped Oklahoma Wesleyan capitalize at the free-throw line in key moments. Evangel tied the game late, but Oklahoma Wesleyan remained composed in the closing moments, making key free throws and forcing a missed three-point attempt on the final possession to seal the win.
Izuagbe led all scorers with 28 points, shooting 9-of-15 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Williams added nine points, seven assists, and four steals, while Yashi McKenzie finished with 11 points. Blake Hamblin and Humberton Kentish Jr. each provided key contributions off the bench.
