Springfield, Mo. —
The Oklahoma Wesleyan women's basketball team fell 87–50 to Evangel on Wednesday night, dropping the Lady Eagles to 7–12 overall and 2–11 in conference play.
Evangel started the game with aggressive play in the paint. The Crusaders opened the contest shooting 80 percent from the field in the first quarter and built a 35–11 advantage after the opening ten minutes. Oklahoma Wesleyan worked to settle in offensively but struggled to slow Evangel's transition attack and second-chance opportunities.
The Lady Eagles continued to battle in the second quarter, with Gracie Alexander knocking down a pair of three-pointers and Taliyah Harris providing a spark off the bench. Despite those efforts, Evangel maintained control heading into halftime with a 52–24 lead.
Oklahoma Wesleyan showed improved energy in the second half. Kamryn Phoenix finished strong at the rim, while Khassidy Warr attacked the glass and got to the free-throw line. Evangel, however, continued to capitalize inside, outscoring the Lady Eagles in the paint and extending the lead through consistent ball movement and bench production.
Alexander led Oklahoma Wesleyan with 14 points, while Phoenix added 12 points and three steals. Warr contributed seven points and six rebounds, and Harris added five points and two assists.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Monday against the Tabor Lady Bluejays.
