Women's Basketball hosted the Avila University Lady Eagles on January 28th as they entered the second round of conference play on the year. Coming off of an exciting win on Monday against the Tabor College Lady Bluejays, the Lady Eagles came into the match with confidence and an upbeat rhythm.
A tight game from the start, the Lady Eagles jumped out and scored 20 in the first quarter, slowing in the second with 13. With Avila in high scoring numbers, they took the lead at the half, 36-33.
Having a slow third quarter ended up being the falling point of the conference game, scoring a low of 9 points and giving way to an Avila lead. The Lady Eagles fell to Avila 80-56, bringing their record to 3-12 in conference play. Khassidy and Khamille Warr led the Lady Eagles against Avila, with 12 points apiece.
The Lady Eagles are back in Mueller this upcoming Saturday for another conference match-up with the Bethany College Swedes.
