Oklahoma City, Ok-
OKWU baseball opened Tuesday's matchup with an explosive offensive start, but the Eagles ultimately fell 20-10 to Oklahoma City University in a game defined by big innings on both sides.
The Eagles jumped ahead early with a three-homer first inning, featuring long balls from L. Antigua, D. Manzanillo, and G. Morales. Antigua and Manzanillo stayed hot in the second, driving in three combined runs as OKWU built a 6-3 lead.Â
OKC responded immediately, tying the game in the bottom of the second and adding four more runs in the fifth to pull even at 10-10. Despite Oklahoma Wesleyan briefly reclaiming momentum with a three-run homer from J. Maloney in the fourth, the Stars surged ahead late. A seven-run seventh inning, powered by a triple from A. Rensum and a two-run shot by W. Ellis, broke the game open.Â
Antigua, Manzanillo, and Maloney each finished with a home run and multiple RBIs, while OKWU tallied 12 hits on the day.Â
With the defeat, Oklahoma Wesleyan moves to 12–5 on the season. The Eagles will look to bounce back as they return to conference action later this week.
