OKWU Baseball opened its 4-game road series at Southeastern University on Thursday night, falling 9-0. Broer Stadium. Despite competitive pitching in the early innings and several defensive highlights, the Eagles were unable to generate enough offense to keep pace with the Fire, who pulled away in the middle frames.
Senior right-hander E. Miude made his first start of the season for OKWU and battled through four innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out nine. E. Miude worked out of multiple jams and held the Fire scoreless through the first two innings. Southeastern finally broke through in the third when they doubled, stole third, and scored on a single.

Luis Antigua also added a hit and reached base twice, including a hit-by-pitch in the sixth inning that briefly generated momentum for the Eagles. However, Southeastern's pitching halted the Eagles. OKWU's best scoring opportunity came in the seventh when JT. Maloney singled, and B. Caldwell doubled, but back-to-back outs ended the threat.
Southeastern extended its lead with a four-run sixth inning and a three-run seventh, capitalizing on walks, hit-by-pitches, and timely hitting. Despite the scoreline, several OKWU relievers, T. Jenkins and A. Knowles, limited further damage in late innings, combining three strikeouts and holding the Fire to one earned run across the final frames.
