Bartlesville, OK —
Oklahoma Wesleyan's Jewel Henderson has been named KCAC Player of the Week following an impressive showing in both singles and doubles competition. Henderson went a perfect 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles, playing a key role in the Lady Eagles' strong week on the court.
In doubles play, Henderson competed at the No. 1 position and delivered dominant results. She helped secure a win over Evangel and followed it up with an impressive 6-2 victory against Bethel's nationally ranked duo of Ladino and Casique, who are ranked No. 12 in the ITA doubles rankings. Her consistency and ability to control play at the top flight set the tone for Oklahoma Wesleyan in both matches.
Henderson also excelled in singles at the No. 2 position, earning two straight-set victories. She defeated Morgado of Evangel 6-1, 6-1 in a commanding performance, then followed with another strong win over Bethel's Ladino, who is ranked No. 63 nationally, by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Her ability to compete and win against nationally ranked opponents highlights the level she is playing at right now.
