Game 1: Eagles defeats Avila in a powerful performance
OKWU softball opened its two-game series with Avila University by pulling away for a 7–3 victory Tuesday afternoon at Avila Softball Field.
The Eagles struck first in the top of the opening inning, plating two runs highlighted by an RBI triple from M. Fory and an RBI single from M. Ogle. Avila responded with three runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead, but Oklahoma Wesleyan's pitching and defense settled in from there.
A decisive five-run fourth inning swung the momentum back to the Eagles. K. Withem drove in two runs with a single, and R. Rector followed with a two-run hit to center as Oklahoma Wesleyan capitalized on Avila miscues to build a 7–3 advantage.
A. Rogers earned the win in relief, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and striking out four to keep Avila off the board the rest of the way. Offensively, Withem led the Eagles with three hits and two RBIs, while M. Fory and R. Rector also drove in key runs.

Oklahoma Wesleyan added two more runs in the fourth inning by capitalizing on defensive miscues and extended the lead to 4–0 with solo home run by Maria Fory in the fifth.
