The Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagles faced the top seed in the KCAC Tournament on Thursday, falling to Evangel in tournament play.
Evangel jumped out to an early lead in the opening inning, scoring two runs to take control. The Lady Eagles looked to respond in the middle innings, putting runners on base in the fourth and fifth, but were unable to push a run across.
The game shifted further in the fourth inning as Evangel used a home run and a three-run blast to extend its lead. The Valor added another run in the fifth to continue building separation.
Oklahoma Wesleyan was limited offensively, finishing with three hits on the day. Raegan Rector, Maria Fory, and Audrina Landin each recorded hits, while the Lady Eagles also worked three walks but struggled to capitalize on opportunities.
In the circle, Yina Vargas provided relief after the early innings and worked through the middle of the game, while Madison Treadwill closed out the contest.
The Lady Eagles drop to the losers bracket and will look to work their way back through the bracket, beginning with a matchup against Friends University following their loss.
