BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Oklahoma Wesleyan University Men's Soccer continued its unbeaten start to the season Friday, earning a 1-0 victory over Baker University behind a second-half goal from Tylor Guerrero.

The Eagles controlled much of the attacking play, outshooting Baker 15-6 while putting nine shots on goal compared to just two for the Wildcats. OKWU also held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Despite generating several opportunities in the opening 45 minutes, Oklahoma Wesleyan entered halftime scoreless. Nasreddine Benbella, Alejandro Aleman Lopez and Marcos Vidan each forced saves from Baker goalkeeper Maxot Arystanov, who helped keep the match level through the opening half.

The match shifted early in the second half when Baker's Kane Rawlins received a red card in the 54th minute, leaving the Wildcats down a player. OKWU capitalized less than six minutes later.

In the 60th minute, Guerrero broke the deadlock, finding the back of the net for the game's only goal and giving the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.

Oklahoma Wesleyan continued applying pressure after taking the lead. Eguzki Hashimoto, Alejandro Aleman Lopez and Mateja Bozic all put attempts on frame as the Eagles searched for an insurance goal. Baker's defense held, but the Wildcats were unable to generate an equalizer at the other end.

The Eagles' defense delivered another strong performance. Goalkeeper Marko Rodic stopped both Baker shots on goal, helping OKWU record the clean sheet. Baker managed only six total shots over the 90 minutes.

Guerrero led the way with three shots and the game-winning goal, while Hashimoto recorded three shots with two on target. Aleman Lopez added two shots on goal, and Mateja Bozic also placed both of his attempts on frame.

With the victory, Oklahoma Wesleyan improves to 2-0-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Baker falls to 1-2-0.

Tylor Guerrero provided the decisive moment for the Eagles, scoring the match's lone goal in the 60th minute. The defender finished with three shots and delivered the game-winner to help OKWU preserve its perfect start to the season.
