BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Oklahoma Wesleyan Men's Soccer battled LSU Shreveport through a wild second half Friday night, with the two sides ultimately finishing in a 4-4 draw at the OKWU Soccer Complex.

The result moved the Eagles to 2-0-1 on the season as they remained unbeaten through their first four matches.

OKWU struck first in the 23rd minute when Nasreddine Benbella found the back of the net off an assist from Ronardo Burgher. The advantage lasted only 13 seconds, however, as LSU Shreveport's Yandel Arce answered to level the match at 1-1.

The two teams remained tied through halftime before the action picked up considerably in the second half.

Benbella delivered again in the 60th minute. Burgher provided his second assist of the night, setting up Benbella for his second goal and giving Oklahoma Wesleyan a 2-1 advantage.

LSU Shreveport responded with a pair of penalty-kick goals in quick succession. Jacob Botterill converted in the 64th minute before Arce followed with another in the 67th, putting the visitors ahead 3-2.

The Eagles refused to go away. Ryunsokue Masuzuka brought OKWU level in the 70th minute, making it 3-3 and setting up a dramatic final 20 minutes.

LSU Shreveport regained the lead late when Botterill scored in the 87th minute, but Oklahoma Wesleyan produced an immediate response. Santiago Gomez found the equalizer to bring the Eagles back even at 4-4 and preserve the draw.

Benbella led the OKWU attack with two goals on four shots, placing three attempts on target. Burgher was instrumental in the buildup, recording assists on both of Benbella's goals. Masuzuka and Gomez accounted for the Eagles' other two scores.

Oklahoma Wesleyan finished with 12 shots, including eight on goal, while LSU Shreveport recorded 14 attempts and seven on target. The Eagles also generated consistent pressure from set pieces, holding an 11-7 advantage in corner kicks.

The four-goal performance keeps Oklahoma Wesleyan unbeaten to begin the 2026 season as the Eagles continue their early-season schedule.
