Red-Hot Eagles Torch Bethany

Hot-shooting from beyond the arc and strong defensive intensity led to a massive win for the Eagles on Monday against Bethany. The Eagles shot better than 58% from the field during the game and held the Swedes to 34% as they pulled away for a 105-55 rout over the KCAC foe.

Recap:

  • In the first half, the Eagles hit 6 shots from beyond the arc, with Lense Ramey and Dylan Phillip coming off the bench to shoot a combined 5-8 from downtown. Meanwhile, the Eagle defense held Bethany to 20 points in the half and just under 30% shooting.
  • At the half, the Eagles led 47-20.
  • Things didn't get any easier for the Swedes in the second half, as they continued to shoot poorly thanks to disciplined defense from the Eagles.
  • OKWU went 23-37 in the second half, an impressive 62% from the field and scored 58 points in the second half to put away the Swedes early.

Now the Numbers:

  • OKWU's 15 made threes are a season-high.
  • OKWU also controlled the glass, outrebounding Bethany 43-27 for the game. Valentin Van Putten secured 14 rebounds for the Eagles.
  • OKWU's bench contributed 73 points during the contest.
