The #10 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team hit the road for a mid-week double header against the College of the Ozarks Bobcats in Point Lookout, Missouri to start off the month of April. Playing 2 seven inning games, the Eagles outscored the Bobcats 6-2; taking home two victories and overall improved their record to 24-3.
Game 1 was a nail biter up until the last three outs. The Eagles took the lead in 2nd inning, scoring 3 runs on 4 hits off of the Bobcats pitcher Spencer Greene. Eagles designated hitter, Danny Perez put the Eagles on top going 2-2 with 1 RBI and scoring 1 of the 3 runs. On the mound for the Eagles, Kellen Brothers threw all 7 innings, holding the Bobcats to 2 earned runs, allowing only 4 hits, and striking out 8. Ending the game in the Eagles favor 3-2.
Game 2 was a pitching game for the Eagles, throwing 6 different pitchers in the matter of 8 innings. Sebastian Irwin, Brendan Woods, Austin Berglund, Chase Hux, Ryan Kouba, and Team Hackler all split time on the mound for the Eagles and ended the game with 0 runs scored. Not only did the Eagles out pitch the Bobcats, but outhit them as well; scoring 2 runs in the 5th, and 1 in the 6th the Eagles took home the 3-0 victory over the Bobcats. At the plate, Issac Wersland went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and scored the final of 3 runs.
Next on the agenda, the Eagles are set to face off against the Sterling College Warriors for a weekend KCAC series on April 2nd and 3rd
