Box Score 2 The Lady Eagles softball team closed out the regular season 29-15 overall with a midweek series against the visiting McPherson College Bulldogs on April 27th. Ending the day 1-1, the Lady Eagles lost game 1 8-1 and took game 2 9-7.
Game 1 of the double header ended in favor of the Lady Bulldogs with an 8-1 victory over the Lady Eagles. Struggling at the plate, the Lady Eagles only RBI of the game came from DH Lindy Alexander in the 1st inning. For the Lady Bulldogs, Aubrey Beggs led McPherson offense going 3-4 with 3 of their RBI's. On the mound, Reagan Kleppe took home the win with 7 innings pitched, 2 strikeouts and 1 earned run.
Overcoming the period loss, the Lady Eagles jumped out on top in game 2 of the double header. Winning game 2 9-7, the Lady Eagles combined for 15 hits, 9 RBI, in 33 at bats. Leading the hitting parade, Lindy Alexander, Faith Lawson, and Addy Redd all went 2-3 throughout the games and Baylee Knorr ended the game going 2-4 with 3 RBI. In the circle for the Eagles, Abbey Ely pitched 7 innings, struck out 3 batters, and allowed 7 earned runs.
The Lady Eagles ended regular season play in 4th place in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. They are set to face off against McPherson College on Wednesday, May 5th in Great Bend, Kansas for the first round of the KCAC Conference tournament.
