The Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagles continued their home series Friday afternoon, taking game three and four of the four-game series against Crowley's Ridge to complete the series sweep in Bartlesville.
Game 3
The Lady Eagles earned a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Crowley's Ridge, using timely hitting and strong pitching to secure the win.
After a scoreless first four innings, Oklahoma Wesleyan broke through in the fifth. Abby Huie singled and Maria Fory followed with a base hit to put runners on. A sacrifice fly from Brooklyn Purtell brought in both runs, giving the Lady Eagles a 2–0 advantage. Crowley's Ridge answered with a run in the sixth, but Oklahoma Wesleyan's pitching staff held firm down the stretch.
Addison Dorsay got the start in the circle and earned the win, throwing 5.1 innings while striking out seven. Yina Vargas came in for relief and recorded the save, striking out four and shutting the door on Crowley's Ridge to secure the victory.
Oklahoma Wesleyan finished with five hits in the contest, with Huie, Fory, Purtell, Aubrie Matthews, and Gracie Jones each recording hits in the win.
Game 4
The Lady Eagles closed out the series in dominant fashion, defeating Crowley's Ridge 10–0 in five innings to complete the sweep.
Oklahoma Wesleyan set the tone early, plating four runs in the first inning and adding four more in the second to build an early lead. The Eagles continued to apply pressure offensively, adding runs in the third and fourth innings to secure the run-rule victory.
Maria Fory led the way at the plate with a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Raegan Rector added three hits, while Maddie Ogle drove in three runs. Brooklyn Purtell and Gracie Jones each recorded RBIs as the Lady Eagles totaled 12 hits in the win.
In the circle, Lydia Polk delivered a dominant performance, throwing a complete-game two-hit shutout to earn the win and secure the series sweep for Oklahoma Wesleyan.
With the two victories on Friday, the Lady Eagles completed the four-game series sweep over Crowley's Ridge and carry strong momentum into their next matchup.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will have one day of recovery before returning to action on Sunday, February 14th, when they host Hesston College for another non-conference doubleheader scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Bartlesville.
