Oklahoma Wesleyan University has been named the 2025 KCAC Team of Character, a recognition that speaks volumes about the heart, unity, and spiritual foundation of this remarkable group of student-athletes and coaches. From the first whistle of the season, the Eagles demonstrated more than just athletic excellence. They embodied a culture of respect and faith-driven purpose. The team's bond extended far beyond the field, rooted in mutual encouragement, accountability, and a shared commitment to honoring God in all they do. Coaches and players alike cultivated an environment where character was not just taught but lived out.

Their journey, however, was not without heartbreak. Early in the season, the team suffered the devastating and unexpected loss of their beloved teammate, Christian. In the face of grief, the Eagles chose not to retreat but to rise. With heavy hearts and renewed purpose, they dedicated their season to Christian's memory. Their season was more than wins and stats; it was a living testimony of perseverance and faith. A verse that captures their journey comes from Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." 

This honor from the KCAC is more than a trophy; it's a testament to a team that chose character over comfort, faith over fear, and love over loss. Oklahoma Wesleyan's season will be remembered not just for the games they won, but for the lives they touched and the legacy they carried forward.
