Beach Volleyball Finishes 3–1 at ETBU Beach Classic

Marshall, Texas —

The Oklahoma Wesleyan beach volleyball team delivered a strong 3–1 showing at the ETBU Beach Classic in Marshall, Texas, earning wins over East Texas Baptist, Ottawa, and No. 10 Texas Wesleyan. The Lady Eagles' only loss came in a tightly contested 3–2 dual against Texas A&M Texarkana, a team currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Beach Volleyball Top 10 poll.

Oklahoma Wesleyan opened the weekend in a battle against Texarkana, falling just short in a 3–2 decision. The Lady Eagles picked up points on courts three and four, where Claira Warren and Kaytlin Soward fought through a three-set match and Emma Stubbs and Valeria Perez secured a straight-sets victory. Despite the narrow margin, Texarkana claimed the remaining courts to take the dual.

The Eagles responded later Friday with poise and momentum, earning a 4–1 victory over East Texas Baptist. Maddy McKinney and Avery Forman showcased resilience on court one with a three-set win, while Jordan Isbell and Sydney Collins, Warren and Soward, and Stubbs and Perez each delivered straight-set victories to secure the team win.

Saturday began with Oklahoma Wesleyan's most complete performance of the tournament, as the Lady Eagles swept Ottawa 5–0. Isbell and Collins set the tone on court one with a 21–15, 21–16 victory, while McKinney and Forman followed with a 21–19, 21–13 win on court two. Warren and Soward controlled court three in straight sets, and Stubbs and Perez rallied after dropping the first set to secure a three-set victory on court four. Layton and Schonauer capped the sweep with a straight-sets win on court five to seal the dominant performance.

Oklahoma Wesleyan then capped the weekend with a statement 3–2 win over No. 10 Texas Wesleyan. In a back-and-forth dual, the Lady Eagles secured key points in critical positions to clinch the team victory against the nationally ranked Rams, marking their third win of the weekend and their second over nationally recognized competition.

The 3–1 finish underscores the program's continued growth and ability to compete with top competition early in the season. Oklahoma Wesleyan returns to action Tuesday, March 3, traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska, for matchups against the University of Nebraska and Wayne State College.
