Two strong performances from the OKWU softball team on Tuesday were more than enough for the Lady Eagles to overcome Bethany on the road and pick up the first sweep of the KCAC season. The Lady Eagles won the first game 9-1 and followed that up with an 8-0 shutout win in Game 2 to improve to 14-7 on the season.
Game 1 Recap (9-1 win, 5 innings):
- It was a strong day at the plate for the Lady Eagles. Sofia Cardenas (1st), Bailey Zornes (2nd), and Lindy Alexander (5th) hit home runs to power the Lady Eagles' offense.
- Maddy Wiese pitched a complete game, allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run to the 18 batters she faced.
- Bethany committed 4 errors that also aided the OKWU effort as they rolled to a 9-1 victory.
Game 2 Recap (8-0 win, 5 innings):
- Game 2 was not much different for the Lady Eagles. Ryleigh Clinton knocked in 3 RBI to lead the offense, which produced 5 runs in the first 2 innings to take control of the game.
- Tahlor Stefek pitched for OKWU, going the full 5 innings and striking out 7 on her way to a shutout victory.
