Box Score Salina, KS – The #15 Women's Soccer team was on the road on October 14th for a conference match-up with the Kansas Wesleyan University Lady Coyotes. Looking to stay on top in the KCAC standings, the Lady Eagles needed a victory over the Coyotes, doing so the Lady Eagles improved to 8-0-2 in conference play and 10-1-3 overall.
In a close 1-0 win over the Lady Coyotes, the Lady Eagles were defensively solid throughout the 90 minutes of play. In goal for the Lady Eagles, junior goal keeper, Aida Sanchez was excellent, ending the game with a 100 save percentage. Rallying behind Sanchez, the Lady Eagles put together a scoring drive early in the first half, with a goal off the foot of Tania Mocholi, Linn Joelsson & Mikayla Van Blaricom drove the ball forward for assists.
Scoreless for both teams through the remainder of the game, the Lady Eagles held together and took the 1-0 victory. The Lady Eagles outshot the Coyotes 23-3, with 10 shots on goal.
