The #19 Women's Soccer Team was on the road for the KCAC Tournament Championship match-up against the #2 Friends University Flacons on November 11th. Defeating the Lady Falcons earlier in the season, the Lady Eagles looked to keep their momentum going and take another KCAC win.
A back and forth battle between two top KCAC teams, both working fast and trying to gain control of the game. The Lady Eagles were excellent defensively the whole first half, keeping the lady falcons on the shooting records and keeping the ball in their possession. Ending the first half scoreless from both, the Lady Eagles needed to find energy move the ball upfield in order to score.
Doing just that, the Lady Eagles put together a scoring drive with an outstanding midfield pass from Linn Alana Doherty to Tania Mocholi; giving the ball to Linn Joelsson for the first goal of the game. Giving the Lady Eagles the 1-0 lead in the 54 minutes, they would have to push for more and defend for the remainder of the 36 minutes. The Lady Eagles were able to score one last goal in the 78th minute, with a pass from Anisa Guerrero to Tania Mocholi to make it a 2-0 ball game in favor of the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles outshot the Lady Falcons 17 to 4 with 10 shots on goal. With this win, the Lady Eagles were named the 2023 KCAC Tournament Champions.
