Lady Eagles Sweep KCAC Women’s Soccer Honors

Following another dominant season, the Oklahoma Wesleyan women's soccer team was well represented in the 2025 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference selections. The Lady Eagles claimed four of the league's top individual awards and placed nine players on All-KCAC teams after completing a perfect 13-0-0 conference run.

Senior forward Laura Gieseler headlined the honors, being named both the KCAC Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year. Gieseler leads the conference with 21 goals and 45 total points, serving as a crucial piece in an OKWU attack that has been among the most dangerous in the nation.

Junior defender Elise Lofnertz was recognized as the KCAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, anchoring a back line that ranks first in the NAIA in goals allowed with just four all season, a goals-against average of 0.20, and a total of 16 shutouts. Sophomore Alessandra Martinez earned KCAC Goalkeeper of the Year, contributing 12 clean sheets in conference play and consistently setting the tone between the posts.

Head coach Ivan Ristic was honored as the KCAC Coach of the Year for the sixth consecutive season, continuing his impressive run of success leading the Eagles program.

In addition to the individual awards, nine Lady Eagles earned First Team All-KCAC recognition:

Laura Gieseler, Sr., Forward, Ijui, Brazil

Kylie Reif, Sr., Forward, West Lafayette, Ind.

Wendy Jimenez, Sr., Midfielder, Mexico City, Mexico

Linn Joelsson, Jr., Midfielder, Gotborg, Sweden

Isabelle Simoneau, So., Midfielder, Las Vegas, Nev.

Elise Lofnertz, Jr., Defender, Landvetter, Sweden

Ana Chavez, So., Defender, Quito, Ecuador

Tessa Edwards, Sr., Defender, Tulsa, Okla.

Alessandra Martinez, So., Goalkeeper, Plano, Texas

The Lady Eagles' complete sweep of the major KCAC awards underscores their remarkable consistency and teamwork throughout the season. OKWU enters the postseason as both the KCAC regular-season and tournament champions, looking to continue their dominance on the national stage.

Congratulations to Coach Ristic and the entire women's soccer team on their outstanding accomplishments and well-deserved conference honors.
